A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through midday Wednesday – an additional 4-6″ with locally higher amounts will be possible. The watch could be extended into Thursday. You can view river observations and river forecasts here or here.
Tuesday: Showers and storms are likely off and on throughout the day. Model guidance does not agree on timing and placement of rain coverage – all need to prepare for potential flash flooding issues. Storms will be slow movers, which means flash flooding will be likely. The Weather Prediction Center has placed our area under a Moderate Risk (threat level 3 of 4) for excessive rainfall today and tonight.
Wednesday: More storms will likely move in by midday Wednesday. Heavy rain may lead to additional flash flooding issues. There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 4) for excessive rainfall.
Thursday: Showers and storms are likely. Any additional rain may lead to some flooding issues.
Friday & the Weekend: We finally start to dry out, but we likely won’t be totally dry until the weekend once a stout ridge of high pressure builds to our east and over the region.
