StormTracker Morning Forecast…
Today: A warm front will lift to the north today and with a passing disturbance and ample moisture, scattered showers and isolated storms will likely develop later this morning through the afternoon. Not all areas will see rain. The best chance for rain will be for areas along and north of I-10/I-12 and east of I-55. The rain chance is 30-40%. Mostly cloudy and warm otherwise. Afternoon high near 85°F, but with the high humidity, it will feel like the upper 80s to lower 90s.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy and quiet. A shower or two will be possible, but most stay dry. Some patchy fog will be possible. Morning low temperature near 70°F.
Wednesday: A mix of clouds and sun with highs in the upper 80s, but with the high humidity, it will feel like the low and mid 90s. We will likely break an old record high of 87°F (2015). Forecast high is 88°F. Rain chance is around 20%.
Thursday: A cold front will begin to move into the region. Rain chances will increase on Thursday. Timing and potency of this system are still unknown at this time, but we will be watching for the threat of severe weather and heavy rain. Heavy rain will be a possibility once the front passes on Thursday. Best chance for rain currently looks to be Thursday night and into Friday morning.
Friday: Some showers and storms will be around, but again, the timing all depends on the evolution of the cold front. We will keep you posted. All in all, this system will bring our area cooler weather. Highs in the lower 70s on Friday.
Weekend: Another system will begin to push through the region this weekend. Rain chance is currently around 60% on Saturday and 60% on Easter Sunday. We will be monitoring for the potential for a heavy rain and severe weather threat.
Rainfall totals through Monday look to be around 2-3″, but this can change. Stay tuned.
