Extended – The threat for severe weather returns Wednesday night mainly after midnight. The majority of our viewing area sits under a marginal risk [1 out of 5] for severe weather; however, the risk is slightly higher for southern Mississippi as it sits under a slight risk [2 out of 5]. Main threats will be damaging winds, lightning, heavy rain and isolated tornadoes.
Our next front stalls by Thursday keeping the threat for rain in the forecast for the remainder of the week. Showers and storms will mainly be spotty in nature. Eventually, a slightly drier pattern transitions into the area by Monday.
Temperatures will trend nearly 5-8° above average through Sunday. A cooler pattern arrives by early next week.
