Extended – We move into a drier pattern starting Wednesday. In fact, we’ll keep the showers and storms away until late on Friday. By the weekend, we’ll be monitoring a disturbance in the Gulf that could become a tropical depression by Friday. The main threat for Louisiana will be heavy rain and potential flooding. Current rain estimates sit in the 5-7″ range. Rainfall rates could exceed an inch per hour. Localized flash flooding could become an issue. Temperatures will continue to trend above normal. Heat indices will remain in the upper 90s and lower 100s.
