Tonight: Mainly clear with overnight temperatures in the low and mid 60s. Patchy fog will be possible.

Wednesday – Friday: As Nicole gets closer and closer to Florida, winds will pick up and usher in cooler and drier air from the northeast. High temperatures will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s and mornings will be in the 50s Thursday and Friday.

Weekend: A trough will force a cold front into the area and it will pass the area Friday or Saturday. We are not expecting much rain with this front, but it will bring much colder air to the Gulf Coast. Showers are possible late Friday and into early Saturday. If you’re planning to go to the Southern game on Saturday, dress in layers. Kickoff temperature is projected to be in the 50s, but the wind will make it feel even colder. Expect highs to be in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees over the weekend and mornings in the 30s and 40s.

Next Week: Cooler weather should stick around for most of the week with highs in 50s and 60s and lows in the 40s. We will be watching for a system to bring wet weather to our area Monday and Tuesday. Stay tuned!

Tracking the Tropics:  Nicole will make landfall along the east coast of Florida late Wednesday and into Thursday as a hurricane. After, it will move over the spine of Florida or even the far eastern Gulf of Mexico before turning back to the northeast as an incoming trough will lift it to the northeast. It could make a second landfall near the Big Bend of Florida. No direct impacts to our area except for gusty winds.
