Tonight – Showers and storms. Heavy rain likely. Flash flooding possible. Lows near 69.
Tomorrow – Showers and storms. More heavy rain in pockets. Highs near 78.
Extended – Our next batch of heavy rain returns this evening. Current estimates show possibly 2-4″ of rain with local higher amounts. Various areas today had 6+” of rain. Therefore, any additional rainfall will be an issue. We remain under a Flash Flood Watch through midday Wednesday. Be cautious of flooded roadways and swelling bayous and streams. Do not drive around barricades.
We also have the threat for some localized severe weather. We sit under a Marginal Risk [threat level 1 of 5]. Main threats will be heavy rain, damaging winds and large hail. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
The threat for rain remains in the picture until early Thursday morning. By late Thursday, we finally move into a drier pattern that should last a few days. We’ll see some sunshine from Thursday until Sunday. Storms return on Monday.
Temperatures will be slightly cooler in the coming days. Daytime highs will sit in the 70s. Highs return into the 80s by the weekend.
