FLASH FLOOD WATCH [NOW-WEDNESDAY 7:00 PM]
Tonight – Rain takes a short break. Skies remain overcast. Lows near 69.
Tomorrow – Line of thunderstorms. More heavy rain. Few strong thunderstorms. Flooding risk continues. High near 83.
Extended – For many areas, the waters are beginning to recede from the unprecedented rainfall last night. Numerous locations had 13″ or more of rain. However, the concern for flooding continues. We’ll see a short break tonight, but more heavy rain is anticipated for tomorrow during the daylight hours. Any additional rainfall will be big issue. Local rivers are already swelling beyond their banks. The Amite River at Bayou Manchac is predicted to reach moderate flooding.
The unsettled pattern continues through Thursday into early Friday. By the weekend, we finally fall into a drier pattern with plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will even approach the 90° mark by Monday.
