Today: Mostly cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms likely starting late morning and lasting through the day. Highs near 87° with winds out of the southwest at 5 mph.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance for a lingering shower. Lows near 73° with calm winds.
Extended: Our temperatures will remain below average thanks to increased cloud cover, heavy rainfall and a late summer “cool” front. The slow moving front is forecast to push through southeast Louisiana into the Gulf on Tuesday. As a result, we’ll see increased storm activity ahead of the front with some locations seeing 1-2 inches of rainfall. Our main concern with these storms will be localized street flooding, lightning and gusty winds up to 30 mph. Once the front passes our skies will clear out Wednesday leaving our highs in the mid 80’s with a drop in humidity. Comfortable weather sets in Through the rest of the weekend with highs in the mid to upper 80’s before the humidity returns and we increase our rain chances by the weekend.
