Tomorrow – Skies will be partly cloudy. An occasional shower is possible. Highs near 92.
Extended – Conditions will quickly go downhill on Wednesday as Laura approaches southwest Louisiana. The track and the intensity of Laura is still subject to change. You still have time to prepare. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the westside of the Mississippi River. Impacts will be heavy rain and strong wind gusts.
Tropical Storm Laura: Laura will move into the southern Gulf of Mexico by morning. Expect Laura to reach hurricane strength sometime throughout the day potential overnight. Laura throughout Wednesday will move into a very favorable environment. Rapid intensification is possible. Laura could reach Category 3 strength just before landfall. The current track points to the TX/LA state line. However, impacts will be far reaching as this could be a very large and dangerous storm by landfall. Baton Rouge will have impact, but uncertain to what level at this point. Have a game plan and be ready to act.
