Extended: A large area of high pressure will keep us dry through a good portion of the week with most of the rain sitting along coastal parishes. Temperatures will continue to rise and by midweek resulting in highs up to 97° with higher feel-like temperatures. With this in mind, heat safety will be a must. Starting Thursday night, a front will move in dropping our temperatures back into the upper 80’s with isolated rain chances. These seasonal temperatures will continue into the weekend with a 20%-30% chance for afternoon showers.
