Weather Talk

StormTracker Team…The Mississippi River at Baton Rouge passed a major milestone on Tuesday, May 21st, 2019.  This marked the longest period of the river remaining at or above flood stage.

The old record of 135 days was set during the Great Flood of 1927.  That event prompted the construction of the levee system along the Mississippi River.

A FLOOD WARNING will remain in effect along the Mississippi River for the next few weeks.  Residents along the river should stay up to date with the latest river stage information!
