We are closing out the month of July with a quiet tropical picture. No tropical development is expected over the next five days. Saharan dust, as shown by the orange mass in the graphic above, is continuing to hinder tropical development.
During the month of August, we tend to see an increase in tropical activity. August and September are the peak months of hurricane season, with the most active day being on September 10.
As we begin to move into the most active part of hurricane season, now is the time to get a plan together should a storm come our way.
