StormTracker Forecast…A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect through 10 AM. You can expect areas of fog with temperatures in the upper 70s. Skies will stay mostly cloudy. Rain chance is only around 10%. Areas of fog will develop overnight and into Thursday morning. Also, some showers will be possible ahead of an approaching cold front. Rain chances will be a touch higher on Thursday as the cold front passes through the area. Humidity will begin to drop a touch on Thursday, thanks to the front. Temperatures will top out in the low and mid 70s. Wake-up temperatures on Friday will be in the mid and upper 50s. Clouds will rule the sky on Friday. Rain chances will be around 20%.
Thankfully, a front will move in on Saturday and will help clear us out and cool us down. Highs will be in the 70s with a 60% chance for showers and storms. The timing is still a bit uncertain, but you can check back in with us as we get a little closer to the weekend. As of now, pack a poncho if you’re heading to the LSU National Championship celebration on campus on Saturday.
The second half of the weekend will be pleasantly cool with highs in the upper 50s and partly cloudy skies. There is a slight chance for rain on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, but it will be even cooler as temperatures only warm into the mid 50s. Overnight temperatures will likely drop around to around the freezing mark.
