StormTracker Team…Another unseasonably hot day can be expected for the Baton Rouge metro! Temperatures will be nearing record highs yet again and with high humidity in place, heat indices will be between 97°-102°F. Very little relief from the heat today thanks to the upper-level ridge dominating the Deep South. An isolated shower or two will be possible, but most areas will remain dry and hot. Thankfully, the ridge will begin to break down, allowing for more moisture to move in, which means slightly higher rain chances on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. A front will move in on Friday and stall out before a reinforcing cold front sweeps through the area on Monday. The second front will finally bring us some fall weather. In wake of the front, afternoon temperatures will be in the lower 80s and overnight/morning temperatures in the 50s & 60s. Until then, remember those heat safety tips and stay cool out there!
