Today: A cold front will move into the region, increasing our rain chances. Currently, around 40% during the day and 90% at night. Some storms may be strong to severe. A Slight Risk (threat level 2 out of 5) for severe weather is in place for our area tonight – mainly during the late evening through overnight hours. Damaging wind and tornadoes will be the main concern. Heavy rain of 1-2″ with locally higher amounts expected. Be sure you have multiple ways to receive warnings when you go to bed tonight – especially ones that will wake you up! Highs will be in the lower 70s ahead of the front.
Tonight: Rain through the pre-dawn hours. Rain will taper, temperatures will drop and winds will pick up in wake of the front. Morning temperatures will be in the 30s and 40s, but it will feel much colder.
Christmas Eve: Clearing skies with falling temperatures. Temperatures will not warm up much on Christmas Eve day. Afternoon temperatures will be in the mid and upper 40s, but the wind will make it feel like the 30s all day long. Not looking like Santa will have any traveling issues Christmas Eve night. Overnight temperatures in the 20s and 30s are expected, which means a light to moderate freeze is expected. Cover the plants/bring them in and don’t forget about your fur babies!
Christmas Day: A frosty start to the day. Christmas Day looks to be mostly sunny and chilly. Cold in the morning then chilly in the afternoon. Highs will only be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Overnight temperatures in the upper 20s to lower 30s again – widespread frost will likely develop by Saturday morning. Protect the pets and plants!
This Weekend: Some showers may begin to move in from the west on Sunday. Highs will be in the 50s on Saturday and then 60s on Sunday.
