BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – It’s summer in Louisiana which means you should probably have an umbrella handy at all times. Wednesday is no different because there is a chance of scattered showers and storms.
Today: The chance of precipitation is 50%. Highs will be in the upper 80s with heat indices in the upper 90s and low 100s. Winds will be light out of the west. High near 89.
Tonight: We’ll stay mostly dry overnight with just a slight chance of isolated showers and storms. Skies will be partly cloudy. Winds will be light out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. Low near 74.
Extended: Tomorrow will be a better chance for scattered showers and storms, but again, it doesn’t look like the day will be a washout. Highs will be in the low 90s. There could be spotty storms again on Friday, but rain chances will be lower with highs in the low 90s. The weekend will be hot and steamy, but it will be mostly dry. There is a 30% chance of brief storms on Saturday and Sunday, and most places will be dry. Monday and Tuesday will be better chances for storms. Highs will remain in the low 90s.
