Hurricane Zeta: Zeta is forecast make landfall as a Category 2 Hurricane along coast of SE Louisiana this afternoon. The worst impacts should stay to the east and southeast of the Baton Rouge metro. We will likely see heavy rain and strong wind, possibly gusts of 30-50 mph. Our areas near the I-55 corridor could see frequent gusts of 40-60 mph. The worst of the weather will be between 3PM – 8PM or so.
Tonight: Some light showers early in the morning before much drier and cooler air settles into the region. Morning temperatures will be in the low and mid 50s.
Thursday: Mostly sunny and brisk with highs in the mid and upper 60s. Wind will make it feel a few degrees cooler.
Friday: Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s. Overnight lows in the 40s and 50s.
Weekend: Pleasantly cool and nice for Halloween weekend. During the day, temperatures will warm into the lower 70s. Trick-or-treat time will be cool with temperatures in the lower 60s. Late-night hours will be in 50s. Warmer on Sunday with highs in the low and mid 70s. Don’t forget to “fall back” Saturday night/Sunday morning. Daylight Saving Time comes to an end. Also, there will be a full moon on Halloween, which means it’s a “blue moon” since it’s the second full moon of the year.
